People’s Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party MP Newroz Uysal Aslan submitted a report on rights violations in Bolu Prison to the Parliament. The report drew attention to the fact that prisons have turned into “punishment camps”.
In the final declaration of the “Road to Peace: Memory and Justice” conference held by the Human Rights Association (İHD) in Amed (Diyarbakır), participants called on building social peace. DEM Party MP Ömer Öcalan stated that Kurds are in love with peace and solution, “We need an honourable peace” he said.
The “Road to Peace: Memory and Justice” meeting, “road map for peace” was discussed.
Delivering the opening speech of the conference "Opening the Road to Peace", Rıza Türmen said, "Peace can only be achieved by eliminating the reasons that lead to the weapons. The democracy front should propose a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue."
