International conspiracy to be protested in Amed 2025-10-08 10:16:11   AMED - Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Amed (Diyarbakır) provincial co-chairs called for a "response to the conspiracy with strong participation" for the march to be held on the anniversary of the 9 October conspiracy.   The Platform of Democratic Institutions will organise a march in Amed under the slogan "To a Free Society with a Free Leader" on the anniversary of the international conspiracy that started with the extradition of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan from Syria on 9 October 1998.  The march will start on 9 October Friday at 16.30 at Şêx Seîd Square (Dağkapı Square) and will continue until Balıkçılarbaşı. DBP Amed Provincial Co-Chair Ahmet Doğan and DEM Party Amed Provincial Co-Chair Abbas Şahin called for participation in the march and pointed out that the conspiracy failed to achieve its aim.   Ahmet Doğan pointed out that the conspiracy was intended to annihilate the Kurdish people and stated that the "the capitalist system conspired against Mr Öcalan in line with its aims to design the Middle East." Stressing that Abdullah Ocalan has been resisting under isolation for 26 years Doğan said: "When we look at the Middle East today, the salvation of the peoples lies in Mr Öcalan's paradigm. Let's unite around this paradigm and raise the struggle. The conspiracy must be answered with strong participation in the march. Strong participation will both break the isolation and be an important point for the freedom of Mr Öcalan. We invite all our people to participate in the march."   Abbas Şahin said: "The aim of the isolation was to break the bond between Mr Öcalan and the people. However, the bond between Mr Öcalan and the people became stronger. In an environment of social decay governed by the nation state mentality, Mr Öcalan initiated a process in which the peoples will live together. In the process initiated for the construction of a Democratic Republic instead of a Nation Republic, the Kurdish people are determined and fulfil what is necessary. The path to a democratic free life passes through the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. We invite our people to take part in the march."
