Women ready for 'freedom' march 2025-09-28 09:17:20   AMED - A mass see off will be held in Amed (Diyarbakır) on October 1 for the march to be organised by Free Women Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) with the slogan "We Walk to Freedom with Hope". The women said that the main demand is the physical freedom of Abdullah Ocalan.    TJA will organise a march from Amed to Ankara with the slogan "We Walk to Freedom with Hope". The march will start on 1 October and the first stop will be Curnê Reş (Hilvan) district of Riha (Urfa). The march will then continue to Dîlok (Antep), Adana, Mersin, Konya and Ankara. Representatives from many women's organisations will also take part in the march.      Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Mêrdîn (Mardin) MP Beritan Güneş Altın stated that the main demand of the march is the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan. She said: "Every place we will visit has a different resistance. We are passing through these places to remind that resistance again. We want to bring this resistance together with the freedom of Mr Ocalan. His physical freedom is also very important for the construction of peace. For the freedom of Mr Ocalan, millions of people took to the streets and held magnificent marches in many parts of the world. This march is a continuation of this. It will be a march where the peoples' demand for freedom will be shouted."   Stating that there will be a mass see off in Amed on 1 October, Beritan Güneş Altın said: "It is urgent to ensure the physical freedom of Mr Öcalan. We will shout the importance of this during the march. We will put programmes in front of us along the way. We will meet with women and explain the process. We invite everyone to this historic march."   CALL FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE MARCH     Arzu Kahraman from TJA emphasised the importance of the march and added: "As women, we are carrying out the struggle by embracing the process. The way for peace and freedom to come to the peoples of the Middle East is through the physical freedom of Mr Öcalan. Mr Öcalan's 'right to hope' must be implemented immediately. We will organise a march to ensure his physical freedom and for him to carry out the peace process. Participating in the march means pioneering freedom and protecting the process. We call on all our people to take part in this blessed march."
